Hello, my name is Stephen Cavers, but in the metaverse known as Second Life I go by the name Cubey Terra. This is the page where I write something about myself so readers can get an idea of who the heck is writing this blog. Where should I start? How about a nifty bulleted list? Doesn’t everyone like a bulleted list?
- I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
- I have worked as a software technical writer (writing user manuals) since 1994.
- I have run a virtual aircraft business in Second Life since 2003.
- For a little over a year, I worked part-time as a “Linden liaison” — a kind of helper/cop/troubleshooter in Second Life.
- I co-authored a book about building LEGO Mindstorms that has a title that’s almost longer than the book itself: 10 Cool LEGO Mindstorms Ultimate Builder Projects: Amazing Projects You Can Build In Under An Hour.
- I self-published selected entries from the first two years of this blog in paperback: Raised By Penguins (available from Cafe Press).
- I have a BA from the University of British Columbia (1998), where I majored in theatre.
- I generally won’t spontaneously break into a mime routine.
- I will juggle on occasion.
- I have had a website since early 1995, which has eaten up many an evening in pointless tweaks and edits.
- Blogging and Second Life together consume more time than all of my previous websites combined.
